Guidelines For Uploading Your Printed Design

The following guidelines will apply to products of all shapes and sizes. Examples shown are for illustrative purposes only.

File Types and Quality

Your selection on the product page will depend on what type of file you are uploading. This will provide us with the best file to customize the product, which will provide you will the best possible results. Below is a breakdown of the different types of files.

Image / Photo Example Image / Photo Example

Image / Photo

File Formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG

These files may include:

  • Photos taken by a digital camera
  • Photos taken by a phone or tablet camera

These image files are made up of pixels (small individual squares of color - the more pixels you have, the better your image quality will be).

Logo / Artwork - Raster Logo / Artwork - Raster

Logo / Artwork - Raster

File Formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG

These files may include:

Logo / Artwork - Vector

File Formats: SVG, EPS, PDF

These files may include:

Exports from digital design programs
They will typically be higher quality and resize better than a raster image.

These files could include text and / or artwork, and are made up of lines and dots that connect them, rather than pixels, making them sharper than raster-based artwork and easier to edit.

These types of files are often used with crafting machines.

Please Note:

  • Transparent or white backgrounds with bold text and / or artwork will produce the best results. Image quality will reflect the quality of the original file.
  • The quality of your finished product is directly affected by the resolution/size of your uploaded image. Please refer to the minimum image size indicated for each product. This is located on the product page under LOGO / IMAGE GUIDELINES
  • We do not recommend screenshots, as the quality will not be as high as original images
  • If your artwork does not meet the minimum requirements, it will not be accepted into the preview layout. You can either select a higher quality image or choose an alternative product with smaller image size requirements.

Background Removal

If you have a logo / artwork file that does not have a transparent background, you will need to select the JPG or PNG (Auto Background Removal) option to create a transparent background automatically.

Any white space that you see in the preview will be printed on the product. This feature will remove your background so that there are no unwanted areas of color. See the following examples:

Images with a white background will convert well.

Large fonts are recommended, as fine elements may not transfer onto the product as expected.

Images with good contrast between the text / artwork and background will convert well.

A light background color will create good results when the text / artwork is dark in color.

Images with white text / elements or text / elements that are too similar to the background color may not convert as expected.
