I bought 6 of these parasols in the White for me and my 5 bridesmaids. They made INCREDIBLE props for my beach photos! The color is more of a light ivory than a bright white. I looked around for a long time for a good price on parasols and these were definitely the best priced. The quality is fine to use for pictures for an hour, keep sun off of you during a ceremony etc...

The only weird thing was that there is a little red thread bow in the middle and at the end of the handle. Red was not in my wedding colors at all so I just cut those off and problem solved.

Definitely recommend for BEAUTIFUL wedding photos : )

Like other reviews, I found the wooden handles kind of flimsy in such a way that if I'm not too careful I could easily break it. To avoid last minute mishaps, I recommend opening each one to: 1)check to see if you got the correct color and 2)make sure it opens and stays open.

I wish we had half stars because it really deserves a 4.5 rather than a full 5; but I'm an optimist, so I gave it the full rating!

These are going to be used as part of the girls' bridesmaid gifts and as a prop for pictures at our golf club, vintage-y themed wedding. I think the nylon is PERFECT (I can't speak for the paper, but I would 100% pick nylon again!), but you have to be very, very, very careful with the handle and the threading that holds the nylon to the handle. The handle is sort of cheaply made, but ADORABLE nonetheless! It's a little wooden handle and just has such a girlie feel. Again, I'm having a vintage-y wedding, so I'll use the parasols with little white lace gloves, yellow flowers, and purple bridesmaid dresses.

I should mention the girls are receiving the yellow and I'll have the white. The yellow is NOT pastel; it's not too bright, but then again, we'll see how it shows up in pictures when we're out in the sun.

Regardless, these are a steal and worth the buy.

The only shipping problem I had was that The Knot didn't send one of the 6 yellow bridesmaid parasols to me. I emailed them this morning and within no time they emailed back saying the missing one will be shipped soon. It's October now and my wedding is in May; so as long as it arrives, no freak outs over here :)

I bought the natural-colored parasols for my bridesmaids, mother and future mother-in-law, and personal attendant. They're great! I can't wait for some fun photos with them. Exactly what I expected for the price - very nice/fits what I imagined, but not super fancy.

I just got these in the mail today and I am very surprised by how nice they actually look. They are nylon so they are more sturdy than paper but don't look cheap like I would suspect nylon to look. I can't wait to use them for my wedding pictures.

The only thing that I am not crazy about is that I got the white one and the white nylon is very thin so you can see through it a little bit. At a price this low, however, you get what you pay for.

I bought 3 of these and were planning to use them for my wedding. One for me, my mom and mother in law. I was so excited for them to come but when they finally arrived I was extremely disappointed. The wood looked molded on 1, on the other 2 the wood was splitting, and the paint job they did on the handles was awful. It looks really sloppy. I will be sending back and not using in my wedding.

I am having an outdoor wedding and wanted to use this to kind of cover myself until I got to the isle. It will serve its purpose. However the quality is really really poor (the actual handle is really short and not pretty)... and its just not cute. I will see how it looks in the pictures and update.

Not only were the parasols such a cute prop in our wedding photos but they also served a purpose, to shield my bridesmaids and our moms from the sun at our outdoor destination wedding in Maui, Hawai'i. We saved a pretty penny on flowers by giving each bridesmaid a parasol instead of a bouquet. This is a nicer keepsake since flowers always wilt and die. When you see the parasol up close, it does seem cheap but you get what you pay for. I bought it on sale with a discount code but even the regular price is reasonable. The parasols looked perfect in the photos, which were priceless. Only 1 out of 10 parasols arrived broken, which The Knot easily offered a replacement or refund over the phone. My wedding guests got matching white personalized fans. I had wished there were more color options, like red, but white was a nice color with our red dresses. I also wished that there was a wrist loop to help carry them. At this price point, these are not built to last but they are good enough for the one-time use and probably a few more times after the wedding. Overall, I am very happy with these parasols.

I love these! I bought several because I'm having an outdoor wedding in June and this will cover my butt in case of hot sun or light sprinkles (though they are not intended to be heavy-showers umbrellas).

I will be placing them in an umbrella stand with a sign that says "Come Rain or Come Shine".

Wow! After reading the other reviews I expected them to be nicer than pictured but I was so surprised when they arrived!! They are perfect! They seem very well constructed & larger than I was picturing - in reality they are about the same size as my mini Totes umbrella (but a very flat appearance obviously).
I originally bought these as fun props for photos. But they are so nice that I am scraping the idea of flowers for my bridesmaids & having them carry a parasol instead. For a budget bride, that is a huge savings! They work in perfectly for our outdoor lake wedding with an island theme. The girls all love them too!
I was expecting more of a paper parasol (like a big cocktail umbrella) but these have a very nice fabric, so they will serve a dual function in case of drizzle during the ceremony. The colors don't look as pictured - look at the silk fans for a better idea of color (the tiffany blue & pink are much closer in color) - they definitely aren't pastel. I have the white, pink, & blue so I can't speak for the yellow parasol's red bow but on the other colors, that bow is the same color as the parasol & is used to tie the parasol closed when not in use. The red tassel on the handle is held in with a thumbtack - very easy to remove.

I used this for my outdoor wedding instead of having the bridesmaids carry bouquets and they were a huge hit. Everyone loved them. So unique. They were bigger than I expected but still worked out.

So I accidently received 3 of these in an order from the knot, I wasn't expecting them but when I saw them and played with them I saw how wonderful they would actually be and I ordered 3 more! =P
I think it will be wonderful for my bridal party and myself.
We'll have fun with it!

The frame is very sturdy, the fabric on top is dainty but not functional beyond decoration and a slight shade from the sun.

I bought these for my bridesmaids to use for a fun prop for outdoor pictures. They are wearing yellow, so I ordered white for them and a yellow one for me. They were a great value and are actually made of a vinyl material...if it happens to rain I think they would be fine to use as an actual umbrella! I don't really see the girls using them for anything after the wedding...but they were so cheap I couldn't pass them up! I'm planning to cut off the red tassel that is on the handle.

I bought two of these white parasols on sale and they're really cute. White, sturdy, and with a little red string attached. The only con is that they're a little on the small side...but for the price, it's a good buy.

Better than I expected! Great quality! I ordered the pink thinking that they would be baby pink but they are actually a bit darker and more of a saturated pink, which was good for me considering my colors are Fuchsia and aqua, so they will match perfectly! So excited to use them:)

I bought 1 white parasol and 5 pastel blue parasols. The white one looks fantastic but the pastel blue is far from the picture. In fact, it's not pastel at all. It's more like smurf blue :(

We lugged 50 of these to our Jamaican wedding location and it was worth the trip. They served a purpose of shading our guests while waiting (plus fans were provide), looked great in pictures, and everyone was having fun with them. Great quality. I saw a wedding using them during my honeymoon, and if I hadn't used them...i would have been jealous. Great idea!

These are very pretty. Only a couple of downfalls.. 1) The handles and the top of the umbrella look like the color is un-neatly painted on. 2) The ribbon that ties the umbrella together when closed is already fraying and I only opened it once.

Also, Dont expect that little red or pink logo thing to be on the umbrella. I ordered Pastel Yellow and they were just plain no logo or anything.

I'm having a beach destination wedding in Hawaii in July 2010. I bought 5 white parasols; 3 for my bridal party and 2 for the MOB and MOG. They appear to be very well made and sturdy. Since they are rayon and not paper, I feel more confident that they will last long after the wedding and serve as keepsakes for the ladies.

This parasol complemented my beach theme PERFECTLY. It was actually prettier than i expected. My bridesmaids were veryyyyyy please. It doubled up as fashion and was also perfect for shading from the hot sun, on the beautiful Caribbean beach. I cannot emphasize how great a buy this was. Some of my guests even asked where they can purchase their own parasol.

ordered these in white for myself and my bridesmaids. at first when i saw them folded i though they werent going to be what i wanted, but as soon as i opened it, i knew it was perfect. im using them for my caribbean destination wedding. the only thing is i will be removing the red tassle since it wont match their dresses.

I bought 4 white parasol umbrellas for my 2 bridesmaids, MOH, and my mother. It complemented our beach wedding perfectly. The girls wore beautiful plum purple dresses and carried these white umbrellas while they stood in the sun. The pictures were fantastic and added a really nice touch to the whole beach theme. It was also an awesome favor for the girls to take home with them. The groomsmen each walked down the isle holding the umbrellas for the girls and it look amazing!!! Wouldn't have done it any other way. The umbrellas are in excelelnt condition. By no means cheap looking or flimsy. Well worth it and will last a long time.
